Copying roads into your network layer using QGIS

If a road or section is removed by mistake, it can be copied back into your network layer from the original Shapefile.
  1. Drag the original network Shapefile in the Layers panel, placing it below your network layer.
Network files are generally named gis_osm_roads_free_1.shp or similar.
  2. Right-click on the original network and select Toggle Editing.
  3. Select the missing road, and press CTRL/cmd+C > Toggle Editing.
  4. Right-click on your network, Toggle Editing > CTRL/cmd+V, right-click on your network, Toggle Editing > Save Changes.
The road is now copied back into your network layer.
  5. Right-click on the original network layer, and click elsewhere on the map to deselect the highlighted road. If a road was split before being deleted by mistake, then all parts should be deleted before copying in the full line from the original network Shapefile.
  6. Once all required changes have been made, create a ZIP file with all Shapefile extensions and send it to your Wx Horizon customer success manager to complete the setup. If you are not in contact with anyone from the Wx Horizon team, send the ZIP file or download link to helpdesk@vaisala.com with an explanation of the requirements and the files will be set up in Wx Horizon.
