Creating a network geometry (Shapefile) optimized for Wx Horizon

These instructions are for networks only. Contact the Wx Horizon support team if you need instructions for airport networks.
For a network to be integrated into Wx Horizon, the minimum requirement is that the network should be in the ESRI Shapefile format. The file extensions needed to integrate a network are:
  • SHP file : main file that stores the feature geometry
  • SHX file: index file that stores the index of the feature geometry
  • DBF file: dBASE table that stores the attribute information of features
  • PRJ file: stores the coordinate system information
  • CPG file: specify the character set to be used (optional)
It is possible your network contains other files that are not listed above. Make sure to include them all in the ZIP file.

If the network is not already available in Shapefile format, it must be created or converted to the ESRI Shapefile format.
