Setting up groups and routes for Pro

To set up groups

  1. Identify groups based on your operational structure.
    • For example, by regional areas, climatic domains, or by depot
  2. Provide your group information to technical support and include which data points (weather stations, RWFP and/or Xcast sensor) belong to which group.

To set up routes

  1. Send route information (e.g., SHP file) to technical support.
    If the route name in the UI should differ from the name in the SHP file, specify the preferred display name.
tip It is possible to easily add a forecast point to every route. Identify a location to add a road weather forecast point and provide the information to technical support.

For optimal placement of your road weather forecast points,

  • position them where you need forecast data but currently lack observation points.
  • spread them across routes without existing observation data.
  • place points in locations that are representative of typical temperatures along that route.
