A group is a way to subdivide your network, organized according to how you manage your operation — by geographical area, climatic domain, decision-maker responsibility, treatment priority, or routes. Groups help you view and assess multiple related sections together. One group represents one operational unit, you can create individual plans for a group and further divide it into routes.

A route is a predetermined path or assigned area that a snow plow, salt truck, or other maintenance vehicle follows to clear snow and ice from roads, runways, parking lots, or pathways.
