Creating new alert rule
- In the main menu, go to .
- At the upper right, select Create alert rule.
- In the Title field, type a descriptive and concise name for the rule. This title appears in alerts and notifications.

In the Rule will be effective on following areas field, select the desired regions where the alert rule applies.
If you have regions and routes configured, the ones selected at the top of the screen are the ones that will be active. - In the Monitored locations field, select if this alert rule conditions should be measured from observed data points, road weather forecast points, or both. It is also possible to select individual locations from a drop-down list.

In the Activation: Trigger alert when field, choose between
- Observations/analysis: trigger when alert conditions are met to set a trigger on current data
- Forecast: trigger X h X min in advance to set a trigger on forecasts. Define how much time in advance the alert should be triggered before the weather event is forecast to happen.

In the Alert conditions field, select the primary parameter to trigger the alert from the drop-down list.
- When selecting a non-numerical parameter, such as Surface state, define the individual conditions to trigger the alert.
- When selecting a numerical parameter, define if the alert is triggered when the value is above or below the threshold value.
To add a secondary trigger, select AND or OR to define other thresholds. Using AND requires both thresholds to be reached for the alert to be triggered, and using OR requires at least one of the two thresholds to be reached for the alert to be triggered. - In the Deactivation: Clear alert when field, when the alert should be reset. For example, typing 30 minutes means that, for an alert on the road temperature dropping below 0.5 °C (33 °F), the road temperature needs to be above 0.5 °C (33 °F) for 30 minutes for the alert to reset.
- In Sharing, define how this alert rule should be shared with other users from your organization. To allow other users to receive notifications for this alert, select Allow others in my organisation to subscribe to this alert rule. If other users are allowed to subscribe to this alert, define if acknowledgment of the alert is mandatory using the Alerts triggered by this rule need to be acknowledged by a user toggle.
